Caring for Your New Veneers: Hollywood Smile Aftercare

Caring for E-max or Zirconium veneers involves normal brushing and flossing, avoiding using your teeth as tools (opening packaging, biting nails), being mindful of very hard foods, wearing a night guard if you grind your teeth, and keeping regular dental check-ups so your dentist can monitor the veneers over time.

Ceramic veneers are durable, but they're not indestructible. A little care goes a long way toward keeping a Hollywood Smile result looking its best for years.

Daily care is mostly business as usual

Veneers are cared for the same way as natural teeth: regular brushing, flossing, and routine dental hygiene. There's no special toothpaste required, though your dentist may recommend a non-abrasive option.

Don't use your teeth as tools

Opening packaging, biting your nails, or chewing on pens puts unnecessary stress on veneers, exactly the kind of habit that can chip or crack ceramic over time. This is one of the most common, and most avoidable, causes of veneer damage.

Be mindful of very hard or sticky foods

Ice, hard candy, and very tough or sticky foods can put excess pressure on veneers. This doesn't mean giving up your favorite foods entirely, just being a bit more thoughtful about how you bite into anything unusually hard.

If you grind your teeth, mention it

Nighttime teeth grinding (bruxism) puts significant pressure on veneers. If this applies to you, your dentist may recommend a custom night guard to protect your investment while you sleep.

Keep your regular check-ups

Routine dental visits let your dentist monitor your veneers and catch any small issue early, well before it becomes a bigger one. This matters just as much after a Hollywood Smile as it did before.

Frequently asked

The veneer material itself can't decay, but the natural tooth underneath still can if oral hygiene isn't kept up, so regular brushing, flossing, and check-ups remain essential.
